If you’re committed to losing weight, our personalized and supportive program will help you take control of your life whether you want to lose 10 lbs, 200 lbs, or anything in between. We are here to help you reach a happy and healthy body composition. Losing as little as 5-10% of your body weight can have significant health advantages.
Q. What types of food does the program allow?
A. We understand the importance of individualized plans for weight loss. A “one size fits all” is unlikely to be successful. Based on data from the Diabetes Prevention Program, we focus on low to medium glycemic food index, healthy protein, and fat sources. Our goal is to help you lose weight and prevent diabetes safely.
Q. What are Anew10 Virtual Visits?
A. Anew10 … To Go! is a simple online program that uses health coaches & informative learning tools that teach you how to safely lose weight, improve your health, and prevent diabetes. Programs vary in length, usually 10 or 15 weekly or twice monthly visits. We use a HIPPA-compliant FaceTime app to meet with you. It is available via your telephone, desktop, or mobile device using the free Anew10 app for iPhone or Android phones.
Q. Can I use insurance to pay for the program?
A. We do not bill individual plans. However, a superbill will be provided which you may submit for reimbursement from your insurance plan, HSA, or FSA. Reimbursements will vary and we suggest you check with your individual plan before purchasing the virtual visit program. We offer Care Credit which may offer shorter term financing options of 6, 12, 18, or 24 months no interest.
Q. How long does the initial consultation last and what does it include?
A. The virtual visit consultation will last approximately 45 minutes. You will meet with one of our health coaches who will review the program with you. A physician will review your online questionnaire and may want to speak with you prior to the first visit. The first visit includes the development of your personalized plan. The 2019 Anew10 manual and workbook, either print or eBook version, will be available at your first visit.
Q. What is a patient portal?
A. A patient portal is a secure HIPAA-compliant online website that gives patients convenient 24-hour access to personal health information from anywhere with an internet connection. Using a secure username and password, patients can view their progress, vital signs, and lab information. Patients can also schedule non-urgent appointments, send secure e-mails to our practice, view appointment history, and receive prompt answers to inquiries.
Q. Is exercise part of the program?
A. Yes. Based upon your body composition we will recommend and update your exercise program to include walking or interval walking combined with light weights or resistance bands. Specific exercise videos are available on the Anew10 YouTube channel.
Q. What equipment do I need to purchase?
A. Our free phone app is Bluetooth compatible with Fitbit, Google Watch, and Apple Health. We will recommend a biometric scale that measures your weight, body fat %, muscle mass, and hydration – most are less than $75.00 and available through Amazon or retail stores. We may also recommend a fabric tape measure (for waist measurement) and a blood pressure monitor (for clients who have a history of high blood pressure). A list of equipment recommendations will be emailed to you once you have enrolled. Our online videos demonstrate how to use these monitors and how to correctly take your waist measurement.
